Meal plans
All residential students are on a meal plan. Your meal plan is virtually all a la carte; you have the flexibility to choose when, where and how to eat.
How Your Meal Plan Works
Your ID card works like an ATM debit card. Just present your card to the cashier at the point of sale, and the amount of your purchase will be deducted from the appropriate account. You are charged per item in most cases. The exceptions are the Sunday Buffet Brunch in the east side dining room of ACDC and special, all-you-can-eat functions such as outdoor BBQ's and Guest Chef events.
Meal plan points roll over from fall to spring terms. Note: Meal plan points must be used by the end of Commencement Day in May; any remaining balance after that point will become void.
Point Calendars: Tracking Your Points
How do you know what Meal Plan is right for you? It's not an easy choice, which is why we recommend Plan 1 for new students. A guide that can help you figure out what kind of rate you spend points is the Point Calendar. Point Calendars track the average pace of each meal plan on a weekly basis throughout each semester. Just total your points up on any Friday during the term and compare with the total listed for your meal plan on the Calendar.
Point Calendars are available online and as flyers in the racks by the tray dropoffs in ACDC.
Here's a comparison of the points included in each mean plan option:
| Meal Plan Options for Residential Students | |||
| The Options | Total Points | ACDC Points | Retreat Points |
| Plus | 1525 | 1110 | 415 |
| Enhanced | 1290 | 940 | 350 |
| Standard | 1030 | 750 | 280 |
| Minimum | 805 | 585 | 220 |
Where You Can Use Your Meal Plan
Each meal plan consists of two separate accounts: ACDC points and Retreat points. ACDC points are accepted at ACDC and the Vassar Express; Retreat points are accepted in all locations.
